5 DIY Ways to Get Rid of Extra Wrapping Paper for Good!

Alright crafting lovers, it’s time to get your hands dirty with all that extra wrapping paper you’ve been hoarding! We both know you’re not likely to use all those designs again or at least not in the foreseeable future; so instead of having it collect dust in your shop or home, get crafty! These 5 DIY craft ideas are fun and helpful no matter what you’re using it for…plus, these projects aren’t time consuming at all! (Well, most of them aren’t!)

We’ll Start Slow…

Okay, so if crafting isn’t really your thing but you’re desperate to get rid of all that paper, wall art is the way to go my friend. Not only is it simple and inexpensive, it’s easy to do! All you need is a frame! Can it get any easier? Cut out the amount needed for the paper to fill the frame and voila! You’ve got some homemade wall art! Need more help? Bet You Never Thought Of This…

What’s better than topping off your dining room table with beautiful placemats? Instead of spending those couple bucks at the store, make your own! Just cut the amount you want as a setting and round the edges. It’s almost too good to be true. This is the perfect craft to do when the seasons switch, or when a holiday or celebration approaches. Check out the Oleadner + Palm tutorial here.

Worth the Time…

It may take a bit of time to make this magic happen, but it is definitely worth it! Lining your dresser drawers or even your kitchen cabinets is a creative and fun way to jazz up the bedroom or kitchen. Just cut out the lining according to the dimensions of the drawers and use two sided tape or spray adhesive to make it stick. This is a fun idea to try with desk or make up drawers as well. Get creative with what wrapping paper design you want to choose. It’s as easy as pie! Check out the step by step instructions on the I Heart Organizing blog here.

Money Saver…

Who doesn’t LOVE to save money?! With this crafty trick, not only are you going to save money by not buying confetti, but you won’t be wasting money either, by not using up all your old wrapping paper. It’s a win-win! And it’s probably the easiest wrapping paper craft ever. All you need? A paper shredder (or hey, if you want to go to town with scissors, all the more power to ya!) Just shred and spread! This is perfect for holiday parties, showers, or birthdays, and who doesn’t love using a paper shredder?!

The One Kids (and you) Will Love…

It’s one of the most dreaded requests schools can give their students which falls on the parents: getting book covers for those 20 pound books. The book sleeves usually always slip off, and kids draw on them anyways when they’re zoning off in class. So what do we say? Skip the book covers and secure them with leftover wrapping paper! This one’s a bit more involving than all the rest but the results are fun and useful! Check out the step by step tutorial on the Eighteen25 website here.
